Summer activities in La Val

Your summer holiday in the heavenly Dolomites

The village of La Val looks like a small paradise to nature and mountain lovers in the summer. You’ll be surrounded by spectacular views with many opportunities for walks, hiking and excursions to suit all tastes and abilities.

You can start directly from our house for exciting adventures in the Dolomites. Just put on your backpack and don’t forget an extra layer and some water. We aren’t far from the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, as well as other jewels of nature in Val Badia: Armentara meadows with its unforgettable blooming flowers or Rit meadows with many traditional Tyrolean mountain huts dotting its landscape.

The Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park is definitely a highlight. Part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site and the inspiration for many legends and folk tales, you’ll find a rich variety of landscapes with majestic peaks: Sass Dla Crusc, Piz das Nü, the Sas Dla Port and La Varella; and enchanted lakes such as Lake Limo, Lech Vert and the famous Lake Braies.

In addition to hiking, La Val is an ideal place for mountain biking and cycling. For the even more adventurous traveller, there are also many climbing and paragliding opportunities.

La Val keeps the pristine rural landscape intact, thanks to the lack of ski lifts in and around the village. There are many authentic examples of Ladin "viles", the traditional clusters of residential and agricultural buildings in Val Badia region. In addition, our village takes pride in its rich traditions of craftsmanship and has many artisan boutiques and quality workshops.
